16th Century Italian Renaissance Velvet Panel
Red silk velvet cut against a gilt metal background
Made in Italy, perhaps Florence during the late 15th early 16th century.
The fabric is fairly light weight and was probably meant for a costume
The velvet is over 400 years old and of course shows evidence of this immense age

Would frame up beautifully
