Hand made Incorporating Renaissance Gold Silver Metal Embroidered Silk Velvet Panel Circa 1600 Spanish or Italian Originally part of an opulent Altar Panel
Magenta silk velvet worked in coloured silks, gold and silver metal embroidery. Framed within original gold metallic 'Eye of God' braids . Finished with 18th century silver metallic tassel fringe . Backed with antique sage green silk
Antique time worn condition with general signs of wear commensurate with immense age and use. Wear to silk velvet loose and missing metallic threads
Overall good for age and type

I travel extensively throughout Europe to locate beautiful hard to find textiles , some of which can be up to 400 years old and of course will show evidence of this immense age
Rarely totally symmetrical , with perfectly straight lines, without wear ,evenness in colour etc
I work as best I can to retain all of this inherent quirkiness to obtain a gently time worn faded grandeur appeal that only be achieved over centuries of use
