Incorporating a rare and exquisite Baroque Silk Panel
Italian and Dating from early 17th Century
The Crimson silk couched in silver and gilt metal threads with scrolling stylized Pomegranates and Flowers
Edged with 17th century metallic braid and Tassel trim
backed with antique pale gold cotton velvet
The embroidered panel is most likely from an Orphrey probably once part of an Altar Frontal or on a Cope/ Chasuble
The amazing embroidery is over Four Hundred years old
Sublime time worn appeal with a faded grandeur that can only be achieved over centuries of use
