Four Beautiful English Needlework Panels
Dating from early 17th Century Circa 1620
The whole square worked in intricate tiny stitches. Hard to capture the beauty on my camera.
Each flower, leaf, plant etc worked in silks and edged with gold metallic cording , which still sparkles when held to to light and give a lovely raised effect to the needlework.
Camera makes it look flat which it isn't . So pretty
Edged with sparkling 18th century gold metallic braid
Mounted onto early 16th century Venetian silk velvet
Framed and glazed
Usually squares like this were used on bag faces ,needlework caskets or grouped together on bed hangings etc
