Late 17th early 18th century
Upon a beautiful 18th century French Silk Lampas, which is a rich Burgundy red with a hint of dark pink within the woven flowers
Finished with 17th Century Florentine Metallic gold tassel trim and contrasting red and gold braid also 17th century or earlier
Backed with gold Mohair velvet T
he Heraldic shield depicts a Regal Coronet above Gold and silk embroidered Family Crest within a beautiful hand embroidered frame worked entirely in gold and silver metallic threads
Beautiful gently faded , time worn patina throughout with appropriate signs of wear commensurate with immense age Some surface marks / wear to cream silk on Crest, The metallic threads have taken on a darker time worn antique patina over the centuries

FOOTNOTE All my pillows are hand made by myself incorporating wherever possible rare early textiles
I travel extensively throughout Europe to locate beautiful hard to find textiles , some of which can be up to 400 years old and of course will show evidence of this immense age
Rarely totally symmetrical , with perfectly straight lines, without wear ,evenness in colour etc
I work as best I can to retain all of this inherent quirkiness to obtain a gently time worn faded grandeur appeal that only be achieved over centuries of use
