It is sometimes necessary to rescue fragments from rare and ancient textiles that are now unfortunately in very damaged condition Thus enabling the salvaged pieces to be framed / re worked into beautiful projects for future generation to study and enjoy Occasionally we are lucky enough to save several fragments from a single textile. For many centuries a normal practice The beautiful antique panels, cushions , religious vestments, altar frontals, crewelwork hangings and framed textiles we see today have almost invariably been re worked from much larger pieces
