Italy (probably Venice) circa 1570
Olive green silk velvet cut and voided to reveal what would have be an opulent gold metallic ground
In certain lights remnants of gold metal ground can still be seen sparkling
Finished with 17th century gold metallic hand made braid
Professionally lined and re backed. Strong and stable. Ready to hang
This very rare example is over 450 years old and of course shows evidence of this commence age
Exquisite opulent faded grandeur appeal. Displays beautifully as you can see some rubbing / fading to middle and part of bottom section. Small historic repair bottom right corner
