An absolutely exquisite Antique English Crewelwork Curtain
Dating from early 19th century
Skillfully embroidered in coloured wools featuring impressive Tree Of Life with large Peacock, Birds, Squirrels , Deer , Rabbits , Insects etc
large over size exotic Flowers and leaves Upon a natural linen ground
The outside borders have been lightly padded to give a decorative raised finish The lining an header tape are much later replacements
This curtain has for many years formed part of the interior design within an English Country House Such a wonderful discovery A very rare genuine period textile Tiny antique darned restorations in places . Wear to portion of outside edge due to curtain pulled open and closed over the generations (does not detract) The crewel embroidery is in good condition throughout with wonderful colours well preserved

As you can see this curtain was custom made to fit a very large window If your widow / door does not require this long length an idea would be to shorten from the top and then have pillows or a pelmet made from the separated top section
