A panel of Cisele Velvet . Venetian and dating from second half of 16th century . An Ottoman Pomegranate design. The deep pile Magenta silk velvet voided to reveal a gold metallic ground. Further embellished with Silver metal thread Boucle work.
Between early 18th century Magenta silk velvet
Over antique moss green mohair velvet and finished with 18th century silvery gold metallic braid and frothy tassel trim
Museum worthy textile. Superb time worn appeal with signs of wear commensurate with immense age and use. Overall good for age and type.
