A 16th century Orphrey panel French or Italian Circa 1580 Depicting a Saint beautifully worked in coloured silks and metallic threads This rare and evocative ancient work of art is approx 450 years old and of course shows signs of wear commensurate with this immense age Please study photographs and use the zoom feature as they do form a very important part of the description Orphrey panels are decorative bands using silk and metal threads, sometimes with metal thread grounds, and with further applique.
