The fine Metallic and Silk Raised Padded Stumpwork panels Dates from early 18th century
and are Italian
Appliquéd onto 18th century pink silk damask
Edges with wide 18th century gold metallic braid
Finished with very rare early 18th century long metallic fringe and 4 17th century hand
made silk and metallic tassels
The backing replaced sometime in the 19th century with pink silk
The very rare three hundred year old textiles of course have appropriate signs of wear commensurate with great age and use
With a historic, time worn gently faded grandeur that only centuries of age can achieve
The needlework and trims are in good antique condition with a lovely aged patina throughout
The Silk damask shows signs of wear to central panel. Two end panels good condition
