A huge Venetian Silk Velvet Cover
I am in awe of the size and quality of this textile
The largest and most beautiful I have had
The silk velvet is late 17th century as is the wide silk and metallic braid on all four sides The velvet is an exquisite shade of dark Raspberry Pink which is quite unusual
At some time in the 18th century large pieces were hand stitched together and backed to make this beautiful cover.
Considering the velvet is approx 300 years old is well preserved and in good antique condition. Some small marks a couple of historic repairs Overall good for age and type
