The roundel later set into 17th century crimson silk velvet within a frame of 17th century hand made gilt metal braid.
The silk finest quality velvet is decorated with the most superb silk and gold metal needlework
Finished within an outer wide border of 17th century hand made gold metal braidBacked with later antique silk
The roundel was most likely once part of an orphrey band or cross on either a chasuble or a cope
I am amazed at the quality and condition of this impressive panel. For age and type is is absolutely superb. A very rare find
